Boats – You’ll start with a humble rowboat, but upgrades let you unlock faster, larger-capacity vessels. Some can even be customized for both performance and aesthetics—perfect for relaxing in style.

You’ll make your purchases at a cozy lakeside shop run by a cheerful, talkative shopkeeper—an unexpectedly charming character who adds a little humor and warmth to your quiet fishing days.

In Cast n Chill, there are over 50 different species of fish to discover.
Each new catch is automatically registered in your encyclopedia, complete with useful info like preferred lures and common locations.
Once caught, your record—such as the size of the fish—is also logged for bragging rights.

Some legendary fish only appear under specific conditions, like certain times of day or rare locations.
Before you know it, you’ll be thinking, “Just one more to complete the encyclopedia!”—a design that taps right into your collector’s heart.

Cast n Chill takes place across a variety of fishing spots, each with its own distinct atmosphere and natural beauty.

The first location you’ll visit, Goldenfork River features a calm, lake-like expanse of water that exudes tranquility.

Plus, a free update planned for fall 2025 will introduce a brand-new location: Autumnwood Lake. With more content on the horizon, there’s plenty to look forward to.

The basic controls in Cast n Chill are wonderfully simple.
Just row your boat out onto a lake, river, or the open sea, find a spot where fish might be lurking, and cast your lure—that’s all there is to it.

Unlike many fishing games, Cast n Chill doesn’t rely on timing gauges or reflex-based mechanics.
Instead, it offers a more realistic and immersive experience through intuitive, authentic fishing controls.

Cast your lure, slowly reel it in to catch a fish’s attention—
and when it starts poking at the bait, the real challenge begins.

As soon as the fish bites, you’ll need to react quickly. Carefully manage the line tension as you reel it in, or pause to let the fish tire itself out.
If you pull too hard while it’s thrashing, the line might snap and the fish will escape.
These tense, back-and-forth encounters create a satisfying blend of focus and reward.

Subtle behaviors like hesitation and curiosity are finely animated, heightening the excitement just before the catch.

Beneath the surface, you’ll find over 50 species of fish, ranging from tiny swimmers to massive, legendary beasts.
These legendary fish boast immense stamina and power—you’ll need properly upgraded gear if you hope to reel one in.

And when you finally hook and land one of these mighty creatures, the sense of achievement is unforgettable—

Back at the lakeside shop, the cheerful, overly enthusiastic shopkeeper is always ready to shower you with praise.
His light-hearted banter might just leave you smiling, no matter how your fishing trip went.

🐟 No pressure—relax and play at your own pace!

While you can enjoy fishing manually, the full version also features an “Idle Mode.”
This allows you to keep a slim vertical window open on the side of your screen, letting the game run in the background and automatically reel in catches while you focus on other tasks.

Thanks to this system, even busy players can enjoy the game at their own pace—without feeling left behind.

The moment I began playing, I was immediately captivated by the breathtaking world of pixel art.

From sunrise to sunset, the sky and mountains subtly shift their expressions.
When the trees parted and the view opened up, I found myself breathless—surrounded by a landscape so beautiful, it truly deserved to be called “art.”

Accompanying this scenery were the delicate and realistic environmental sounds.
The oar gently parting the water, the soft splash of the lure hitting the lake, birds calling from deep within the forest—
Just listening to these sounds while gazing at the scenery slowly melted away the tension in my heart.

And this was only the first map.

It filled me with anticipation for what other maps might offer. I couldn’t wait to see the next breathtaking location.

I tried out all the maps available in the shop, but my favorite was Icespring Sea.
Having spent time in rivers and lakes, casting my line into the open ocean felt especially thrilling—like a dream fulfilled.

A distant lighthouse, seabirds dancing through the air, and enormous clouds drifting across the sky—
The divine beauty of it all stirred something deep inside me, and I found myself tearing up, simply overwhelmed.

Of course, the ocean is also home to powerful fish.
With upgraded gear and lures in hand, every expedition felt exciting—and I kept returning to the sea, again and again.

Though I had previously played the demo, I was genuinely amazed by the sheer volume of content in the full version.
Each map contains two or three fishing spots, each with distinct scenery.
The number of fish has expanded to over 50 species, and the variety of rods, lures, and boats has increased dramatically.

For me, the 1,700 yen price tag felt like an absolute bargain.
I can only imagine the immense time and care that went into crafting such stunning pixel art—and I’m left deeply impressed.

Cast n Chill isn’t just a fishing game.
It’s a gentle reminder of the quiet beauty in slowing down, breathing deep, and simply being present in nature.

As you gaze at the scenery, cast your line, and sit with your dog by your side as the breeze brushes past, you’ll feel your heart gradually begin to unwind.

And when that moment comes, you might find yourself thinking:
“I wish someone else could feel this peaceful joy, too.”

Before you know it, you’ll be headed back to the lake—drawn once more by its quiet embrace.
